The story of Hjellestad Jet Ski Klubb

 

1998 – Hjellestad Jet Ski Klubb (HJSK) is founded.

1999 – HJSK appoints a member to the board of the Norwegian Boat Association and our members start to compete in national races.

2000 – 2007 – HJSK lowers the age limit to 13 years, and our members start to compete in international races. The club arranges the Norwegian championship in Bergen.

2008 – 2010 – HJSK builds a jetski with 9.9hp for children. A HJSK committee is established seeking to lower the age limit to 7 years. The Norwegian Motor Sport Association approves the new age limit, and history is written when the club presents “Knøttejet” and Junior 10 – 12 years old.

2011 – 2012 – HJSK acquires a big boat house, and is celebrating its first world champion and first European jr. champion.

2013 – The members of the club win several medals in both national and international championships. In the European championship, they are top four in Jr. Ski Lites and Pro Am Ski Lites. From the World Finals, HJSK’s racers bring 14 medals back to Norway. The club is named as the “Sports Club of the year” by the municipality.

2014 – HJSK wins 9 out of 10 medals in the Nordic championship in Finland and 12 medals in the World Finals.

2015 – HJSK is the proud organizer of the Nordic championship.
